How old is that Diesel fuel? He could have a hazmat nightmare on his hands trying to get rid of that much bad fuel.
It was about 10 years old. Firs,t he tried it in a diesel tractor and it ran fine. So, he put it in his Peterbilt and it ran just like brand new fuel. I get the feeling that diesel does not deteriorate like modern gasoline does.

When he bought the tanks, he did not know they had fuel in them. The woman selling the place seems to be less than forthcoming about details. The story is her Dad built the place many years ago. He sold the business and kept the property. Two other people ran the stations. First did well. But the local Indians built stations all over this are with proceeds from their casinos and pretty much killed all the mom&pop stations. An Indian guy bought it and tried to make a go with a pitiful convenient store and fuel sales. He lasted about 2 years. He closed 10 years ago and it's been sitting there dormant since. There is one tank left and labeled CAM 2. I would think that after 10 years, it is more like CAM 0.2 Dave tried to buy that tank, but the woman had strings attached. Wanted him to clean up the area around the station and do handi-work and Dave was not interested. He hays about 140 acres, has 3 rental properties and drives full time as a owner/operator for Callanan. He's a busy boy.

Dave never mentioned this, but his son was telling me that hauling the tanks back to the farm was a very sketchy ride. Being stationary tanks, there are no baffles inside. So, half a tank of fuel makes for one heavy pendulum sloshing back and forth and side to side going down the road. I was in that position once when I drove a truck with a homemade water tank with no baffles. Full or empty, it was fine. Half full and it would do 30 then 40, then 30 then 40. This was on the NYS Thruway and the state does not have to follow any of their own laws.

Missing some old friends and relatives. Had one of those waking dreams where the dead are still alive. All those people who positively effected my life most are no longer here. Some that may be living I have lost complete contact with.
I had so many positive influencers in my life, who are no longer here. Guess that happens more as you get older.
Wish I could be with them, sometimes.

Know I have the living to account to.Try and be the positive influence I was given the example of. Pay it forward. Do not think I could ever give back all that had been given. I fall so short.
No plans of going anywhere soon. Cept' maybe to work
Just feeling blue is all.
Sorry for the downer of a rant. Just a rough time of the year for me.

I have dreams of people on my life that have died, also.
Dad, brother, grandparents and coworkers.
Most of the time, in the dream, I realize it is a dream, because I remember they are dead. Always good dreams and I just keep on dreaming and don't wake up.
Weird, huh?

Na, just getting older.
Think the mind just has more stuff to sort thru, the longer we have been around. Figure it's a way of reminding ourselves, who we are, and where we came from.

Didn't make it to the cemetery Fathers Day, but did Tuesday. Had a short though meaningful conversation with Mom and Dad, told them they did an excellent job of raising me those 18 years, and they've nothing to do my shortcomings and faults.

Mitty,
I have those dreams almost every night! Mostly the relatives that I did not go to the viewings and Funerals!
I guess there is something to be said about "closure"! Dreams are aways about the same relatives: Weird!

Since today was cool and we had 2" plus of rain since last night ....I fired up the casting pot and Cast About 200 more NOE 260-63 FN bullets for my buddy Ed. Tried to cast up some lee 277's for my arisaka but for some reason the mould was oily! After 50 attemps I shut everything down and will be going out tomorrow for Brake Cleaner!

Dawn dish detergent and hot water will do the trick. No worries about corrosion on aluminum molds. Use an old toothbrush.

they do what they want.
what you gonna do give them a ticket?

so it's been 2 weeks now since they totally tore up 3/4's of my road then took their toys and went home.
i have a giant hole in front of half my driveway with some orange net half in and half out of the hole, i can't get the car in the driveway, and i can't bring my boat home.
i get talking to my neighbor over to the gas station today and he tells me the contractor had a clause in the contract stating if their big back hoe can't lift a rock they don't have to move it.
two houses down the Basalt bedrock starts and there ain't no way there's a back hoe on the planet that could move that [without some rock cracking]

so here we are.

6 or 8 cyl? I've got the 6.
That one had an I-6 and a granny gear that would let me pull (at the speed of a lethargic worm) anything the hitch would connect to.

This is the weekend of the GAF Grand Muster, sort of a cross between military re-enacting and cowboy action shooting. I went down today to observe, and visit with some folks. Got to see one of the repro Schofields in action, check out the sights on a Pedersoli trapdoor, but missed getting to see some 600 yard hits made with a 50-70 Shiloh Sharps carbine. I'll be heading back tomorrow and Saturday, hoping someone brings an 1866 Trapdoor to trade me. I'll try to get some pics of the action tomorrow, when the match formally starts.

Sounds like a liability issue for the governing body!

Gotta run my pup, Moose, back to the vet. He's not gaining weight like his sister. I don't get much time with him as my GD is way more interesting to them than I am, but he certainly isn't as pudgy as she is.

Back to hot and humid. The rains got to let up soon I hope, we're way late on hay getting started.

Some more truck maintaince... tail pipe rusted iff where it was welded to muffler two years ago... Guess the guy didnt wanna waiste $$ on stainless wire for stainless pipes...It rusted where he welded, pipes are all mostly untarnished...

"Driving" bulb fell out of socket again. DONE with that crap!! New socket picked up on my way home today.
The. Go thru my abbreviated fishing gear bucket. Hoping to get out tomorrow. Too much wind last weekend. We targeting Stripers and BSea Bass so I wont need much of whats in bucket.
Bluefish are in heavy. The big ones are where we are going. They ravage tackle. Chompers for sure teeth like a piranha! You DO NOT bring them in boat they WILL BITE you. We dont really like them but they are excellent fighters and fun to catch if they dont destroy your tackle.

Glencoe Days (the city's celebration and carnival) is this weekend. I no longer patriciate in most of it, but I sure do enjoy the activity all around town, mostly Glencoe is a sleepy little town, and most of the time, I appreciate that too.

Tonight is a sweet corn feed, put on by the local canning plan...the meal is free. There will be live music tonight, and tomorrow afternoon-evening ...and lots more.
