Arisaka firing pins are similar to Mausers, but the design was executed by a madman while drinking too much sake. Many of them fail back where the safety knob locks into the firing pin. That particular failure will add color to your vocabulary. If yours simply has a broken tip it will be easier to fix than that bolt body failure I mentioned.
As to the firing pin it was very easy with a bum paw! Actually I think the design was ingenious

I got Primestar for my wife many years ago and we've had sat TV since then. It used to be like $47 a month and we were happy. Over the years we've gone from Primestar to Direct to Dish, which I guess used to be Primestar. The prices have climbed and climbed and climbed. The big problem now is that we're paying a bunch and there is NOTHING to watch. We don't watch sports, porn, ethnic, reality or video channels. We also don't watch religious, foreign language, drug, tv sales shows, game shows or news. Outside of her god awful murder shows, the kids watching Nat Geo and my love of old TV and movies, we can't find anything to watch. 250 channels to get 12 or 15 we use. Oldest son got youngest daughter a Roku for Christmas. Holy smokes! We have Amazon Prime (by we I mean my wife) so we get all those movies and shows for the $100 a year that costs, Netflix is like $13.00 a month and I can buy an old fashioned antenna for less than what a month of Dish costs. Yeah, I may not be able to get "Peter Gunn" or "Sgt Preston of the Yukon", but I can live with that for a savings of $100+ bucks a month.

you might be surprised by what you can get on the digital antennae, it ain't the old 3 if your lucky rabbit ears TV channels.
one thing about the antenna though be prepared to move it just a bit to get some of the channels.
I talked Littlegirl into getting one last summer and she gets something like 14 channels even up here, but when she switches to the channels above 6 she has to move the antenna from north south to east west for full reception.

I've been doing that Cologard thing where ya mail in your poop to the lab. :) Doc said it came back clear and nothing to worry about. Also said it was good for three years so in another two years I'll mail in some more. Sure glad I don't have the job at that place of opening all those containers all day.

I heard about the mail-in thing a few years ago (hey, internet tv, how about that?), it sounded like a realy good plan for maintenence checkups.

Spent the day re-clearing the overgrowth on the 630' property line up on the hill where I can't get machinery. The cedar pollen is over 20 K ppm and is just about to kick my butt. Got 70 T-posts packed up there, 120' elevation change from the nearest road access and about 700' hike to the farthest point. After all that I realized there ain't no way I can get the wire up there without machinery, so I scouted out a path that I just might be able to get my Bobcat through without rolling it as long as there is some weight in the bucket. Only problem is seven switchbacks and a lot of trees to clear. Will be tuning up the chainsaw tomorrow, IF I can move.

Tough day yesterday. Lost my dad, who was 83. He took a fall in his shop in September and received a concussion. He lost some balance and memory. Doctors thought he would recover. He didn't get to hunt deer this year and couldn't work in his shop, which weighed pretty heavy on him and the family. He took another hard fall to his face yesterday, which caused his death. Doctors thought it may have been a stroke, but we didn't request an autopsy, kind of pointless. We hunted, fished and worked together most of my life. He'll be sorely missed.

Rally , this stirs up all of my soup , some more , and you have my sincerest condolences to you and your family .

I lost my Dad in July , 6 weeks before he passed we were breaking ground for a house and he was running the tractor , digging ditches and talking about deer hunting places . He spent 2 weeks in the Hospital and 9 days at home .

Not really the place and time I guess , but I'm really bad at this and still sorting out my stuff . Disregard as needed .

I have no idea what the terrain looks like, but would it be possible to anchor a gasoline winch up the hill and skid the wire to where you need it? Synthetic winch line is relatively inexpensive and a small scoot or sled you could put a couple 3 rolls of fence on can be fashioned pretty easy. Might be an option. I've done super scary I'm gonna roll this sucker Bobcat thing taking it places I shouldn't. Options are always worth considering.

Rally,
I'm so sorry to here about your Dad.
Sounds like you were really close. Remember all those times you shared with him and know you meant as much to him as he meant to you. Know he was proud of you. You'll miss him, every day.
I lost my Dad in 2008. He was 76 and I was 57. I hunted and fished with him since the time I could walk.
Gotta stop now, can't see the keyboard anymore.
