I got Primestar for my wife many years ago and we've had sat TV since then. It used to be like $47 a month and we were happy. Over the years we've gone from Primestar to Direct to Dish, which I guess used to be Primestar. The prices have climbed and climbed and climbed. The big problem now is that we're paying a bunch and there is NOTHING to watch. We don't watch sports, porn, ethnic, reality or video channels. We also don't watch religious, foreign language, drug, tv sales shows, game shows or news. Outside of her god awful murder shows, the kids watching Nat Geo and my love of old TV and movies, we can't find anything to watch. 250 channels to get 12 or 15 we use. Oldest son got youngest daughter a Roku for Christmas. Holy smokes! We have Amazon Prime (by we I mean my wife) so we get all those movies and shows for the $100 a year that costs, Netflix is like $13.00 a month and I can buy an old fashioned antenna for less than what a month of Dish costs. Yeah, I may not be able to get "Peter Gunn" or "Sgt Preston of the Yukon", but I can live with that for a savings of $100+ bucks a month.
