Wife got the tooth fixed. Then I got home took a walk and a nap.
Other then that, have just been cleaning house.
Looking thru my loads and the Lyman book for a load with the 358311-160 grain. Want to do some high and some low velocity.

As for the High velocity in 357, Involving H110.
Lyman says 15.8 to 16.5.
Hodgden says 15 to 16.7.
My notes I took off on old W296 load card says 14.8 to 16.9. I had ran a similar weight flat nose bullet at 14.7 grain so starting at 14.8.

As for the low velocity everything I shot around that weight in 38 special, pretty much was spot on with 3 grain red dot. So going with that. First.

For now just preping the brass and getting primers in them.

Kinda over planted the garden, as in things to close, extending it 25 feet. Tilled up what grass and such that was there last week, turned in about 4-5" of manure and another 2" of grass clippings this afternoon that I have been gathering all summer. Grass clippings were a real pita, balled up in front of the tiller and between the drive wheels and tines, it is going to be an Advil PM night. The soil is hard as a rock when dry and when wet a cross between axle grease and snot, it needs help, lots of bentonite in it.

Tried growing some watermelons everyone thought I was crazy, ended up with maybe 6 yellow fleshed ones, not very big, but boy howdy are they good, if you have not tried any, you are missing out, no more red ones if I have a choice. Think I will take some zucchinis down to the post office tomorrow and when people go in to get their mail I will slip a few into their cars, no one locks their car door when they go inside, or rolls up their windows.

well... where do i start.
the real engineer dude showed up today we discussed what they were gonna do.
he pretty much said do what i had talked to the general about, only about 3/4's of what really should be done,,, so whatever, it'll probably work... i guess.

decided to take the wheeler up a trail and hang out with the bino's to see if i could maybe see some deer movement.
it acted like the battery was dead.
i went over everything it takes to start the damn thing then brought it home and put the battery charger on it.
it sort of turned over, but still kind of acted like the battery is dead [even though the charger showed it at 100%] but now it showed the red engine light.
you'd think something would last more than 200 miles.
guess it's going back down to the place i bought it to see if they can fix it tomorrow.
Clean the batt terminals, both ends, especially the ground.

Well, we own 2 houses again. I got strong armed into going and changing out the door locks. I suppose that is a "Dad" thing. Of course that meant she needed new entry knobs. They decided on Wally World. Got the door handles and got the girls a tool kit, screw drivers, etc. Then they wanted to wander. Okay, fine, I'm gonna see if this "Super Center" might have a box of 22LR since the local-er one I was in a few weeks back had absolutely no ammo at all on display. Well whaddayaknow?!!! They had a fair amount of ammo in the display case. I saw the same stuff I bought at the gunshop the other day for several dollars less, but what really caught my eye was the bricks of Winchester black box stuff. It was outrageously expensive I thought...until I noticed it was a brick of 1K, not 500. Oh ho! Got 3 bricks once I figured out the price per round. It's still way more expensive than it used to be, but at least they had something and now I can breathe a little. Amazing the difference between stores though. This place was happy to get ammo out for me. The other place it's like pulling teeth to even find out if they have ANYTHING in stock. That's the place where the local police chief and a couple others get the tip off on arrivals of ammunition and seem to wind up with a lot of it. Anyway, I can teach the girls how to shoot a little and maybe I can even play a bit.

Everything is absolutely drenched here. Windy and cool too. I have to move sheep fence today. Sometimes I question the wisdom of this "farm" thing. Then I realize I'm doing what I want to do, even if it is a pretty soggy lifestyle some days. ;)

Mowed, changed oil in the Indian, changed out the hammer Spring in my older Gen 1 Contender, cleaned up a space under a lean-to for more firewood, shot the Tender. Yellow perch filets and coleslaw for Supper. Where does the time go?

Been sitting up with muscle spasms in my back, since 6.
An after affect of them cuting bits of tendons and nerves from around my spine. At least it is mid to lower back and not in my hips or legs.
Nothing helps but the muscle relaxer the doctor gave me, but can not take it as I have to take the wife to the doctor in a few hours.

An attempt at repairing a kitchen cabinet drawer slide didn't work, so the project has evolved from the original minor paint touch up and new shelf liner into one of a partial color change and replacing four drawer slides.

Is it asking too much for those slides to not show any wear and still work smoothly after 42 years?

Woah I did allot for me!!!

Bad hit & run on main road about a mile five north of me last night 21:00 ish. My north camera went off & this kid walks up from neighbors around back of my GMC and into my Quonset hut. I throw pants on, grab the 45 & light, then start phone recording in chest pocket and head out. Lights on in quonset no kid back zipper open but that camera not triggered. Head out to side then front and see red blue lights & spot lights thru trees. I make it to corner & flag them down. Five guys are all around me in a blink. Thats when I learn of H&R & this is kid they chasing. They search my buildings & property find nothing. I send them pics of kid & video showing him with time stamps. They email it to themselves. Just before 22:00 again Quonset video tripped & kid comes walking out!!! I grab pics & send to cops email. Minutes they are back with dogs and one young cop comes to door thanking me & explaining they caught one and know who second kid is so its a matter of time till they get him.

This AM I check fence lights & cameras. He jumped fence cause he broke pickets off top & tore his blue jacket. Fixed flood in bushes. Put away some debris I neglected to stoe in hutt then cut lumber to raise mattress & screwed all together. PERFECT!!

Minor discomforts but over all I feel good. Heading out ta see Momma in fifteen... gotta be home here for 14:00.

Well done.

Glad you to hear you are healing up nicely, too.

The little SOB's can hide where you wouldn't think a chipmunk could fit! We had one that climbed into a clothes dryer. Another hid in a large dresser drawer. I found one in a trash can with the lid slightly ajar one night. In the dark, even with a flashlight they can be hard to spot. That's where dogs come in real handy.

Finaly got home from the wife's doctor's appointment. She can take the brace off her hand now for most of the day. She only has to tape her fingers together. And has some rehabilitation exercises to do.

So back was screaming when I got home. Took the magic Flexeral pill, so no driving for 3 hrs. Fine by me. The pain is almost gone now. But feal like sleeping.
Not doing much today. Maybe make up some test loads I was doing reasurch on earlier.

Why not just take the original locks into the local key place and get them to change the tumblers to work with a different key?

Don't even need to do that. I had a locksmith come to the house and change the tumblers for new keys in the exterior doors and make the keys matching.

Two reasons- #1, I was told the old door knobs were "ugly". #2, the front door had some gigantic electronic lock put on by some NYC banking outfit of some sort that required codes that the real estate lady couldn't get to work. Freaking thing was a foot long, dangled off the knob and weighed about 3 lbs. I dropped it off to the real estate office along with their multiple signs. No free advertising!!!

Actually, there's a 3rd reason. The local lock guy is incredibly expensive and I nearly came to blows with one of his people. Best I avoid physical altercations at my stage of life.
