Went to get an M-die for 30-30 and got side tracked and cleaned up some on the bench and surrounding area. Found two new empty 50 cal ammo cans that I need to fill. Looks like I'm going to have to get busy this weekend! I need to find a load for my new Henry 30-30 single shot and that sure would make a nice filler for them.

Rally,
Thanks for the reply.
I've got a Veral Smith 358-160 WFN that I wish wold cast HP. It's super accurate.

Started load development for the 8mm Mauser this morning. Put ten rounds of Lee C324-175 down range. Load shows potential but a lot of work to be done.

If you really want it hollow pointed, Erik's work if fantastic. With the inset bar, you can cast just as fast as with a plain bullet.

I'm pretty sure Ben got it that way! He didn't cut it.
It is possible it could be a shortened TL309-230-5 Someone milled off the Boatail base! There are faint lines of the Tumble lube design!
It now cast at 195-196 gr with my aloy

Week 3 day 5.
The weather cleared off this morning and it turned off nice. So I went out and let the goats out to eat around the yard. Anyway it was so nice and the sun was out and I sat down to just be in it. Pretty soon this happened.goat 3.jpg
We spent about a hour just sitting in the sun.

Delivered custom sewn medical face masks, kits, material, and picked up same from seamstresses around our area. A bunch of quilters are making face masks for whoever wants/needs them. 481 so far. I can't sew but I can drive so I volunteered to do that. In the afternoon, I raked the yard, helped my wife clean out flower beds, got the Summer wheels and tires down out of the loft and swapped them out with the Winter wheels and tires on the F-150.
Tomorrow, sucker fishing to catch some for an old retired farmer who pickles a couple dozen every Spring.

Younger Grandson came over from Missouri for opening day of youth turkey season. 3rd grade bookworm that is gradually opening up to the outdoors. Had a single shot 410 with #9 Tungsten shot at 10-12 yards

Had shot in the head and neck and also broke one leg at the thigh joint.

This is his 2nd year of opening day success. Now the older two from the other direction need to get into them. Maybe at some point Grandpa will get a chance.

that TSS is some amazing stuff.
you can use a smaller shot size and therefore use less weight and still have a good full pattern.
I'd bet a 1 ounce load of number-7's would easily be enough to take down a Canadian goose at 40 yds. even if pushed to a reasonable 1330 or so fps.
wind it up to 14-1500 fps and it carries enough mass for it's size, and retains it's roundness [pattern efficiency] to cleanly kill ducks at 65 yds or so.

You guys be careful out there.
This is no time to need to be going to the Dr or hospital.
Sometimes you just have to like Ian, but not of you can help it.
