I have a couple of new 300's out in the shop [still in the Bubble packs] and a few older 300's, there ain't no way any parts are gonna interchange.

Nice thing about spinning reels are they can be set up for right hand or left. I'm a southpaw and keep the crank on the right side like standard bait casting reels. I prefer to cast with my left hand and turn the crank with my week hand.

Yesterday laid out the timbers for the solar array, today going to drive the anchor rods and assemble the strut for the panels.

Now that's a saw! First saw one of these Makita 16 inch saws in 2000 or 2001, had to have it I do a lot of work with timbers. Built 4 700Sq ft timber log cabins in 2003 and intermittent use since. Awesome saw.

One more day of work then I’m on vacation for nine days! 22 years ago today I married my beautiful wife. She still puts up with me and I’m thankful for it. Headed East to go rock hounding for a few days in the Ochoco mountains.

If I get rained out on the solar project, I'm going to head to my reloading room to get some loads going for the 50 Alaskan. Need to sell that one and there's a couple others that need new homes.

hey Walter if you wanna surprise her for your 25th.
it's Utah's statehood celebration on the 24th. of July.
usually they have nice fireworks shows all over the place and a huge [professional] Rodeo that goes on for a week in Salt Lake.
quite often with a couple of country music acts afterwards.
I caught Chris LeDeux a couple of times on an 8 dollar ticket back in the day.

Rick--we moved from the IE to Ridgecrest about that same time, July 2008. 110*+ or torrential rainstorms in summer, cold and some snow in winter. I miss most elements of living there, but the parts that sucked REALLY sucked. Enough said. 2 range sites (to 400 and 600 yards, respectively) and 3 GREAT gun shops--small, but hard-working counter folks that took care of customers well. I still go back there for shooting 2-4 times each year.

Al, you forgot to mention that Ridgecrest is the true "Shaky Town". I googled it for ya. :)

Ridgecrest has had: (M1.5 or greater) 2 earthquakes in the past 24 hours 30 earthquakes in the past 7 days; 153 earthquakes in the past 30 days; 6,082 earthquakes in the past 365 days.

Yeah but Saturday can now take all the fun out of it. Remember when ya used to wake up and your first thought was, ah Saturday. And your second thought was no alarm go back to sleep for a little while. Nice!

But now . . . .

Ya wake up and your first thought is ah Saturday, and then your second thought is . . .

So what?

Of the seven days in a week, no more than six of them are Saturdays and the seventh is Sunday -- the day we decide to do nothing. Sunday can be any day of the week. Sometimes a week will have more than one Sunday.
Tomorrow, Saturday, is shaping up to be a Sunday.

Well . . . things were going great till the Lyman 4500 broke, while I was installing plain base gas checks. Drat!
The right-angled link that screws onto the end of the handle and connects it to the ram is the dirty rotten culprit.
According to Lyman's web-site, the $9.54 part is on backorder. Double drat!!

Yep. Nothing wrong with dropping several thousands on a mill and tooling just so I wouldn't have to wait for a $10 part to be orderable.
And, if I had a lathe I could make all kinds of round things, and save the drill press for only making holes.
