Casting up a bunch of 9 mm. It’s only gonna be 103° today so I figure it’s a good day to be casting.

101* right now and much more humid than usual, and we have clouds massing over the mountains. Might get some rain in a couple hours, and then it will REALLY get humid, though the temps drop when that happens. Not much you can do about it, so we'll see what develops.

Holy crap Walter, it is so hot that the lube grooves melted!
Must be for paper-patching.

The mountains got some rain today, as did some high desert areas. Reports of flash-flooding in Big Bear Village. This time of year can be dicey for back-country travel and playtimes.

This morning, as I'm surfing FB Marketplace, I see that a Lady listed a RCBS JR2 press (for free), it is rusty...Says she is selling Dad's stuff as he has passed.

Moments later I see a new post pop up, same lady...lists a rusty Saeco bottom pour pot, "make offer"...She states that "it is for melting copper and silver for making jewelry, Dad loved to make jewelry" ...one photo shows that it is half full of alloy, with half a dozen unmelted bullets on top. LOL.

OK, I wanted to call her, and ask if there was a lot of other stuff that was stored in the same proximity, and if she needed help getting rid of all that junk. But, I decided I didn't need another "batch" of projects, I got plenty of half done projects already... plus she is in the Minneapolis Metro area, a place I'd rather not drive to ...But I bet there is a large haul there.

Just got back from the range.
Had found the rest of some.357 half jacket old school Speer type bullets that Fiver gave me a long time ago.
Had loaded up a few before with w296. I am out of the loaded rounds. Made a great Yote round, that is if you did not want to save the hides .LoL
Loaded up 5 with H110, same recipe since I am out of 296. No noticeable difference. So getting ready to load up the rest.

Did not want to burn up my small pistol primers, since general consensus tells me I might be wise to hold on to the few I have. And I also use them for our carry pistols practice ammo.
So loaded up 100 wadcutters with small rifle primers ( I have a couple ammo boxes full of Winchester).
Took the Taurus and the boy to the range for a little single action fun. The Taurus 66 fires them just fine in single action mode.

Getting 2 boxes sent to people who bought something and 3 boxes of gifts to a few lucky members.

Anyone need some random size MTM ammo boxes? 20 bucks gets you a large flat rate box full. Probably have enough for 1-2 boxes.

Brad,
I'll take a box.

I will see what he has left fiver.
I was given a 12x12x18 box full. I am keeping some 9mm and 38 boxes.
I can likely get more by shooting up some of the 3000+ rounds of ammo he brought over. All with frickin Alox lube....

MTM makes some good stuff, certainly. I think I'm good right now, I still have some unused empties laying around and in their shipping boxes.

I tend to have 5-700 rounds in ammo boxes with the rest in bulk storage. The boxes are mostly for range trips.
This works well for me as I tend to use a single load for most cartridges.
