I suggest we all learn east end London pidgin English, then we don't need no abbreviations [which is a rather long word for a word that stands for shortened words]

Made My wife home made chicken soup today but Instead of water I used Home made chicken stock for a double punch!
Topped off by home made Egg Noodles!. Man making the noodles were a workout for an old guy!
She just went wild ! Nice surprise...

I have to take her in for a Heart CAT procedure on Thursday...so I'm trying to do as much in the house as I can. I'm pretty worried... she is a very active woman but to see he sidelined like this is scary! I'm used to see her playing tennis 3 days a week but all of a sudden she gets exhausted just doing every day things! I know there has to be a problem some where.... She went through a CAT scan and a stress test in the past weeks but everything is inconclusive! Heart Doc things there is a blockage some where.... Hope we find out after Thursday
J.W., Mrs. smokeywolf just had that done last Friday; took less than 20 minutes, then another 30 minutes for the Doc to come out and give me the news; no blockages. I'm pretty sure I was more scared than she was. They went in through her wrist. She said it was "uncomfortable".

I remember getting flamed for COWW.
the fella said, "you cast bullets with Cream of Wheat"...and then he went on a rant about misused acronyms.
maybe his breakfast was made with White Wheat? because I have made beer with red wheat ;)

About 2 hours after we got home she slipped into A-Fib again. I had her bear down a couple of times and she converted back to sinus rhythm. I check her heart rate and blood pressure 3 to 4 times each day. She's still weak as a kitten and has to stop and sit down in a chair and rest just to make it halfway down the hallway.
Given the number of meds she's on, I'm thinking of moving some assets out of the defense sector and into pharmaceuticals.

Her left hand is very swollen where they placed the first central line. I think they screwed it up and it infiltrated. She's got a new Ruger pistol she can't get a proper hand hold on. She has an appointment with the GP tomorrow to discuss a treatment plan for the diabetes and he'll look at her hand then.

Just read an article that recently was in New England Journal of Medicine about Ablation. Gist of the article was that Ablation should be a first choice of treatment over medication. Ablation (properly utilized) is a cure whereas medication simply treats a symptom.
The two new trials challenged the notion that ablation should only be a second option. Here's an excerpt:

"The approach with medications is largely treating a symptom," said Andrade, who directs the Atrial Fibrillation Clinic at Vancouver General Hospital in British Columbia, Canada. "If we start with an ablation, we may be able to fix atrial fibrillation early in its course, which potentially means reducing the risk of stroke and other heart problems down the road."

His team found that ablation was, in fact, a better first-line treatment.

A-fib patients who underwent ablation were half as likely to have an arrhythmia episode in the following year compared to patients on medication. And they were 61% less likely to have an episode that caused symptoms.

The findings were simultaneously published Nov. 16 in the New England Journal of Medicine and reported at an online meeting of the American Heart Association.

Thank you to one and all for your well wishes and input. All has been very helpful. A special thanks to Rick who has shown particular concern.

It seems that, when it rains it pours. Got a call from the hospital a few hours ago. They were kind enough to inform us that one of Mrs. smokeywolf's nurses was feeling a little under the weather a couple of days ago and has now tested positive for COVID. Knock on wood; so far, aside from a bit run down from screwed up eating and sleeping patterns and the emotional strain, we feel somewhat normal.

Ablation is a process where they stimulate the various heart nerves to find where the 'bad' circuit is, then deactivate that bad one. Had that done after 2 severe Afib episodes, similar to your wife's. No problems with it since. They did try to get my pulse down from 200 with meds, didn't work.

Thanks Guys... It is 15 Hours to go and We just found out her insurance did not certify the procedure as of yet!
She is still fasting and going through the whole thing like it is going to happen based on her Docs orders...he is working with the insurance idiots that think they know better then He does! I'm working on location the next few day and I cancelled for tomorrow to be with her! Wonder if the would reimburse me for my lost wages.....Yeah right!
Fact is if I worked for the full week I could Probably cover most of the procedure without their imput! ;)
She wants it done , The Doc wants it done, and I want it done..Just so she can get back to normal!
We both want her back on that Senior's Tennis Court... It is her love and when she is happy I am too!
"Happy Wife" "Simple Life"

So many in need around me right now. Sorry if I fail to respond, quickly. I hope you understand.
You guys are in my thoughts and prayers. I never was that expressive.
Sometimes, when surrounded by this much hurt and sickness, I would just rather pray then say. If that makes any sense.

What Emmett said (thank you, by the way). Terribly mired in my own life stuff right now and don't have the words but all of you who are struggling with health issues are on my mind as well.

Yep and Yep ...and praying for all my friends here.

Today is the 'peak' of the current warming trend here in southern MN.
It's suppose to get to 55º and filtered sunshine and relatively calm.
I was at the range yesterday with the Dan Wesson.
I think I'll wander out there today, with a Rifle.
I haven't shot a bolt action rifle in quite some time (4+ yrs)
While I haven't made the decision yet, I'm thinking the Savage Axis 243.
