hey it ain't no picnic up here either, we got most of it. [and it's damn cold]
y'all just got what was left over.
I'm thinking I should have laid in a lot more wood.
All our heat has been blowing up to to Rick this week. We're supposed to get in the 40s starting tonight, it's 80/99% right now and will probably hit 88 with 97% humidity this afternoon.
Just cleaned the Chinese oil/grease of a bunch of 123 blocks. China sure knows how to oil the hell out of anything they ship here. Oil heavily with what feels like a thin Vaseline then wrap in rice paper.
If only they would send us a 5 gal bucket of what they can likely get as Vaseline.

Lamar, while I won't be in your neighborhood, I may be paying a short visit to the southwest corner of your state sometime in the next couple of weeks. I'm hoping you'll provide good weather for me.
the southwest side is a lot different than the southeast Highlands.
it's a lot more desert like, but will get a lot of wind.[if it snows there it's nasty,,, then gone]
it's usually about 10-F warmer there, heck it's usually 10-F warmer down in Pocatello.
we generally settle down in mid October for a few weeks then winter decides it's time to do it's thing.
Weather was crappy so I found a project to work on. I wanted a small hammer for tapping pins, etc.
Took a chunk of 1.25” 6061, a piece of 1” brass, and some 1” Delrin.
Drilled and tapped ends of the 6061 first. Used a 3/8-24 tap as I have a 3/8-24 round die that works well in my hand tapper for the lathe. Turned ends of delrin and brass down and cut threads with a die.
Screwed cut of end pieces and turned ends u til the end caps just cleaned up. I left the center a bit larger.
Marked center and used drill press to drill and tap for a to be made later handle.
Brad, you got your RoundTuIt before I did. I have the materials in hand for that
and another, similar one for the mill, just haven't gotten there yet.
Smokeywolf - thanks, much appreciated. At this stage, just trying to preserve
what I have left is the mission. New tech, stent drain to relieve pressure, doc says
she has had very good results with it, been doing them for about 8 or 9 months.
I debated on using some steel for the head but decided the weight wasn’t needed. I can always make another using steel if I want.
I need to decide on a material for the handle. Likely will get some 6061 and turn part of the handle down and thread for the head. Steel would throw off the balance.
