. Rossi RS 22 with Remington Thunderbolts.
Went Rabbit hunting early this morning. Shot 3.
My buddy got 2 . He has a dog. Boy is it nice to have the rabbits chased out. Then brought to you and dropped at you feet. Now if he could just train his dog to clean them.

Nuthin'! Planned to shoot the new lower build/AR pistol, and Star 9. As I was wrapping things to get ready for range time, kid asked me to help with the rehab house. Range time shot...!

Worked on trying to find a workable process to form cases for the 6mm Rocket. Still not there.
Details in the "New Rifle" thread.

Revolvers, this morning.
S&W 624 with its new Hogue grips. Took some getting used to, but I like them.
The .357 New Vaquero is sporting its new grips, though they hadn't arrived by the time I left for the range.
Twenty-five years ago my wife and I experienced a bear-in-the-conifers incident thus the design. Might give a coat of Tru-Oil.

Personally, I like the greasy, goobered-up look of a revolver that's had a couple boxes of lubed case bullets run through it. Unique and Felix World Famous Lube are a great combination and smell good, too.

It was White Label's BAC -- beeswax and carnauba red.

Yep, 100 rounds of 429421s and 13-grains of 2400. Part of the time I was shooting at metal reactive targets, one being a 30-yard dueling target with six 4" discs. Shooting at the right hand side, I hit the first two discs with the first two shots, missed the third disc with the next shot, then hit it with the fourth shot, swinging it back hard enough to break its hinge and send it flying a good four feet off to the left. Caught myself laughing out loud.

I don’t miss the gooey, greasy revolvers in the heat of summer. I love Felix lube but damn, between a huge chamber, low pressure, and Felix lube the action on my Marlin 1894 45 Colt got gunked up.

Miss that? Nope, not me.

My 624, formerly Rick’s, has the stock grips. I have some rubber grips but just don’t care for them as much.

What kind of load are you guys shooting?

I tried Pachmayr and Hogue rubbers, but the Hogue's were too narrow and the Pachmayrs didn't fit well along the back strap. The gun's original target grips fit well enough, but prefer the finger grooves. These Hogues are similar in design to the 24-3's combat grips.

The gun loves Lyman's 429421 and 13.0-grains of 2400, and 15.0 with jacketed.

Think.... I have the 450 cycling issues figured... I had been using AA9. Its very very accurate. But ignition issues (VERY slight hang fire) Now I found that N120 is shooting just as well. No hang fires. Also #9 never held bolt from start to almost max load... Where N120 occasionally has since first load. That "occasional" part Im now looking at the stop
Itself. I have new buffer and spring as well as cal spec magazine.

I've been using CR for lubing revolver bullets for quite a while. Haven't noticed it being very dirty. Recently, been loading AA#7 in 44 Special for both the Bulldog and 24-3. I have found that it is one of the cleanest of all the powders I've tried. The guns hardly look like they've been fired. Some of which were Bullseye, W231, Unique, Power Pistol, True Blue and 2400. The latter is my go to powder for top end loads in both the 44 Special and 44 Magnum.

Accurate's maximum load for AA #7 with a 240 grain bullets is 9.0 grains. I'm loading 8.5 grains and find that load to be comfortable in the 21 ounce Bulldog. I keep an 8# jug of AA#7 around for 9mm so I figured I'd try it in 44 Special.

Also, 13.0 grains of 2400, with 240 SWC, in 44 Special. IMO, the slower powders produce less felt recoil, all other components being equal.

Took the 20 guage 870 and the 9mm, out to the club this morning. Could not get down to the range for ice. So went Rabbit hunting in the field for about a half hour or so. Seen not a hare. So answer is nothing. But at least I got out.
