This is opening weekend of deer season, and I'm not going to brave that mess. A forest filled with armed Angelenos is not appealing. The last two weeks of the season are cooler and more productive, so I'm chilling for a week or two.

Hopefully the blast furnace portion of our summer has run its course. This Summer--and the past two summers--have been a lot wetter and more humid that conditions were when i was a kid growing up around here. There was a bit of rain here yesterday, and thunderheads are boiling up again today over the mountains. We haven't needed the A/C for the past 4 days. It has been warm-ish, but not "HOT". I like that.

We are finally getting some Fall weather! Temps this morning were 38 deg No frost in my yard but it was all around me. Maybe lower tonight, not sure. Supposed to get much warmer again by next weekend

Well only got 3” of snow which is fine with me, I can wait.
Temperatures starting today, the daytime average temperatures will possibly pop above 32*, night temperatures low 20’s and high teens.
Daylight is down to 10 hours and 15 minutes per day and dropping at the rate of 7 minutes per day.

October usually brings us clear blue skies, high temperatures in the high 60s to mid-70s, and nothing more than a gentle breeze, but not this year. So far, the month's been a re-do of our Summer months' of June Gloom with high 90% to 100% humidity mornings that hangs round till 1200 to 1300, then the stuff burns off till 1600 or 1700, when it rolls back in. Daytime high temperatures have been in the mid-60s with overnight lows in the low to mid-50s.

I'm thinking the gloom and drabness might be a prelude to a wet Winter.

Sunny, light winds with a high of 82 degrees. Suppose to cloud up this afternoon and tomorrow with a high of 83 degrees. Only dropping to 62* tonight. Suppose to rain on Wednesday. Haven't had any rain since September 2nd.

Light frost at dawn, beautiful upper 50's right now, forecast high near 70°. Tomorrow's high 'sposed to be 72°, going blue gill fishing with Sue. When it cools off a bit I'll hunt squirrels. When it cools a bit more I may go shoot a doe.

It sure would. But like so many things in life, I won't be hold my breath. Last Winter we got over 7" in December, but only 3-plus inches since.

Just white. Snow is here till April.. it’s strange to look out and realize that the couple inches of snow currently in the yard will be the bottom layer until breakup in April-May.

Weird, thunder storm around 2:30 am, warm, cold, wet, sunny, calm, windy, then very windy. Wind warnings, 30 to 40 mph gusts. What?

Day 7 without A/C. Lots of thunderheads boiling up over the mountains again today, had lightning and thunder last evening and a bit of rain. Humid as *&(^! Hazy 81* right now.
