Revolver pic thread

Got me too, I thought it was an engraved starfish. I have a couple of stainless Rugers, but they are working guns with only minor spring and cylinder/barrel work and their factory, semi-polish doesn't reflect images like that. By the way, I just gave up back on page one and got a towel to hold under my chin. Good stuff, guys.

I ain't buying the fan story. I have a perfect image of that revolver imprinted on the grey matter and it's staying there. ;)

Maybe if Charles sent the revolver to me I could investigate and get back to you guys.

Some years back, while in Nagel's Gun Store in San Antone, I spied a Smith and Wesson N frame on the bottom shelf of a display case shoved toward the back. I asked to see it and this is what it was. They wanted $225.00 out the door for it, which I paid without a quibble. It is a 1932 Hand Ejector in 44 Special of course. It has have been over the bench at Micro. It wears Micro front and rear sight, Micro checkered target hammer and trigger and checked back strap. It is a fine example of Old School custom sixguns. Before there was Turnbull, Bowen and the others that was Micro.

Sweet . . . My kinda gun. :D I've only got two of those right now, have had others. Right now it's a 357 and a 22, both 9 inch.

Those are both 454s. Have a few more in 454 and 357.

By way of intro, I cast a good bit (mostly handguns), and have known a few guys here for a long time.

I considered a FA454 a few years back, decided it was more fun than I needed. I could see one in 44 mag. The accuracy potential would be worth while.

I had a 10 inch 454, shot silhouette with it but I worked up a sensible silhouette load for it. 240 gr bullet at 1430 fps. 34 gr IMR 4198, sadly that was before I started shooting cast exclusively and it was with the Sierra 240 HP. That was when FA first came out with the revolver and 454 was all they offered. Mine was serial number in the 1500's. Miss that gun a bunch. What a shooter.

They are impressively built and very accurate. My deer load back in the 80s was a 250gr XTP @ 1600fps. Terminal effect was impressive. Eventually graduated to cast and shoot 335-390gr bullets now.

How fast are you pushing a 390? Even at 1000 fps it is gonna go deep no matter what it hits.

The 7.5" will reach 1400fps with a 390gr and WC820. LBT mould, IIRC. It uses every iota of the cylinder length. Works pretty good as a long range rock duster!

Wow, that is a hell of a load. I bet it dusts big rocks well too.

I've got the LBT 320, don't remember the load I used for that right now but what it did to 200 meters rams was impressive, flapped'em down like a 44 mag does 50 meter chickens.
