2400 is probably THE best powder for cast bullets in the Swede. Keep trying.
I overstated a bit when I mentioned her past dislike for the powder -- she has given 18.0-grains the nod several times, but I thought it might be too taxing on her system, though Lyman's 45th lists a maximum of 20.0-grains. She showed a liking toward 27.0-grains of IMR 4895, but my frugalness has prevented other trials.

Popper , I'm too old for such Thom Foolery . What the heck were you thinking doing chair wheelies ?

Oh nevermind I see , there are easier ways to get in to see your brother than checking into the hospital .

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
I've only two chainsaws, almost bought a new Stihl about a year ago. Bought it on a Friday afternoon, that store closes on Saturday at noon. Went out to use my new saw Saturday afternoon and spent all afternoon and most of Sunday pulling on the rope trying to get it started. Returned it Monday morning. Kinda cured me of needing more than two.
As I've noted many, many times, casting isn't for everyone. Same thing applies to saws. They make battery powered saws for those that can't deal with real ones, kinda like store bought cast! ;)

Brett, Those old blue XL 12s were some tough saws.
They were one of the best home owners saws made.
You could hardly hurt them as long as you kept mixed gas in them.
They were state of the art and the #1 selling saw for both professional and home/ranch/farm use at one time. "XL-12" stood for "Extra Light 12 lbs" or so I'm told. Revolutionary saw on it's day, the FIRST truly light weight saw.

:headscratch:

Can't begin to imagine what that means. I was running a chainsaw when you were still pooping in your diaper.

talking about chain saws I found a website that sell Stihl saws in kit form.
Do not much other than maybe when retired it might be fun to build one from kit or not.
Make sure they are actual Stihl and not clones. There is a large concern in China making Stihl and Husky clones. Kits were big for a while. I'm not aware of Stihl authorizing any kits. Likely no warranty at all.

Went out and knocked down a field of hay. I was almost done when one of those "Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind" front rolled in. I finished in a downpour. About normal...

I have here 2 electric saws.
I resurrected the Mc Cullough and sent it along to the SIL's place after showing him how the no chain stopping thing works.

anyway.
one of them is a metal cased Snap On that has put many a gas powered saw to shame.
the other is a 49 dollar use till the blade is dull then buy a new one, model, it's like the third or fourth one of those I've had and I'm okay with that.
if I need anything bigger I don't need to be doing the job.

Back in the early 70's living in Oregon I picked up a used 26" McCulloch, probably the best saw I've ever had, thing was a beast. Cut hundreds of cord of wood with it.

Older bro is in hosp (Tucson area)with throat cancer, not doing well, tried to find out from younger bro what was going on. Tried to sit in swivel chair that broke, toppled straight back, hit head on corner of china hutch & floor. She was on phone with daughter so I had to find her and eventually off to ER down the street. Tetanus shot and 8 staples in skull (same place I had sqaumus removed), CT showed no brain leaks and didn't find any rocks there. Son was in Buamont on business, sent pics of him shaving full beard, lambchops, fu-manchu, etc to clean face. Trying to get me to laugh. Guess he was bored. Sore from shoulder up. She took a pic of sKull so I could see it this morning, Lots of dried blood. Think I'll toss the chair - she wants to just put a sign on it - NO SITTING. Had just gone to dinner with friend that had both knees replaced at the same time and we were talking about ladder accidents.

I will forgo the carnage pix . Out and around today , down to 3 pills per 24 . I tried the bed last night , lasted about 2 hours . Driving assorted sticks my whole life has resulted in a much stronger left leg lift structure which I am thankful for today . Everything from my belt loops to skull base itches like ....... I don't know , but it's bordering on maddening .

Took the girls out on the lake this AM. Caught the biggest Striper of this season. Tossed two undersized (18-19") ones back.

7-27-21 32.25 inch 11.32#.JPG

32 1/4" weighing 11.32 pounds. Bigger than I like to clean. Eight seven degree water. Alabama rig with 5 ounce trolling sinker and five (4 1/2") Shadalicious Ghost Shads. First, ten minutes I was losing line.

Hey now, dadgummit, I resemble that remark! My battery-powered saw is awesome. It always cranks and runs, is quiet, and doesn't require much maintenance. If course I'd freeze to death if I had to cut firewood with it, but hacking through all the cedar brush here and keeping the driveway trimmed is no problem for it.

Narcotics will do that to some people. High doses make me puke. Tylenol alone taken on an aggressive schedule can do wonders...up to a point, and I think you're still beyond that point. Heal well, my friend.

BEAUTIFUL SUNRISE!!!

Took a trip with a buddy to a GS we dont get to very often. The owner is a long time old friend and recently bought a large private collection. Included in this was a ton of ammo and a ton of reloading stuff. But limited scope. The person Loved the small stuff. 17,20,22 & 6mm. He had a 7mag too. I was able to buy 6boxes of factory primed Rem cases 5$ a box. Two boxes of 139g Hornadys 4 boxes if 70g Speer .224 and two boxes of 100g HP 6.5's. Then a Box of 380 Fiocchi 90g XTP.... 100$.

It was a good day. He also had four almost new RCBS presses. 4 uniflos on stands and 4 beam scales. I just ordered a beam scale. GRRR his where all as new in boxes 60$ One of the presses was a MAX I surely dont need this. But have been thinking about a new MEC as I hear its very solid. This aughta be everything that is. Im thinking on it. He didnt have a price. But as nee in box appears unused. Even if 200 /250 it would be a wash to the MEC.

Its all the scratch , poke , bruise , raspberry healing itch . I have a narrow limit of selected pain control meds with a long track record . So far so good . As far as high test drugs go it's about 1 cut above aspirin , it probably has NyQuil hard on its heels .

Been out and about most of the day .
