At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
I once read a line in a novel entitled Run With the Horsemen. They were talking about a youngster nicknamed Sambo. What they said was: "Sambo aint a bad boy, we just can't think of enough things to tell him not to do." Might apply to Gordy.
Yeah, that's him. We're going to have to get him some fire retardant clothes. I wasn't really aware they made such a thing until recently. He's just careless, doesn't think. Gee, a 19 year old that does that! What a strange thing! I'm pretty sure if OSHA ever hit his shop they'd have kittens. Little outfits in the sticks probably do a lot of stuff that isn't quite kosher!

Nice a cool here again this AM, -20 to -26F depending on who who believe. Oil furnace still out, so I'm feeding the wood furnace. Cindys hidning in her room with the electric heater! Got to get to town, again, to get what I forgot/didn't have room for yesterday. One thing I need is an oil filter for the crawler. The engine oil is water contaminated. That means the filter is too. Not likely to find one and I didn't know about it till late yesterday and then promptly forget about it until about 10PM last night! Too many irons in the fire.

I had that same dental work a couple of years ago Keith. Two studs, bone grafts, dentures.

Two things I can say about it in all honesty.

1> What a horrible thing to go through. This was in part because my insurance will only pay $2,000 per calendar year so I started in October and paused until January. Took another break and finished it all up later in the year. Also had a pause of a few months after the bone grafts for that to heal up.

2> One of the best things I've ever done and so worth it. Ranks right up there with cataract surgery and no longer being blind.
Heard a rumor that medicare kicks in some money for implants. I need to go in and do the same thing you did. Ended up with the same weak enamel on teeth as my mom. She had at least half of her teeth replaced before she turned 40.

You should then look into the Medicare payment. They didn't a few years ago when I had mine done. Was my insurance and me. If you decide to do this, I can highly recommend Doctor Dover on College St.

I am in the process of getting an implant right now. The bone graft has healed and waiting on being drilled for the implant itself. Medicare said no help. Perhaps it is because it is for a single tooth?

Playing with the Gboy. Just cleaned and striped my four sided strop batt. Getting ready to reload with compound. Have several pocket knives that need touched up.

Just went to the gun shop. Got tired of my Pittsburgh junk digital caliber.
Bought an old school type one for 50 bucks.
Frankfort arsenal stainless steel. This thing weighs twice what the Harbor freight did, has a lot better feel on the thumb screw for tension. Is all stainless except for the thumb grip. Best of all no more batteries to change.
Had my Starret mike and guage set out to use for sizing down an expander and working with some other specs that needed .0001 accuracy. So decided to compare the two calipers using the Starret as a constant..
The harbor freight was getting me .001 to.002 off f spec no matter how hard I tried.
The FranK Fort I was able to get measurements at .0005 accuracy, Constantly and repeatedly.,even though it is rated at ..001.
They had 3 different ones I picked the heaviest and most expensive at 45 bucks. Pockets are lighter but just got tired of working with junk.

Quality tools are always worth the money.
Junk will always cost more in the long run, no matter how cheap it was initially.

Hmmm, after reading of others dental adventures, I have a new appreciation for my healthy set of chompers!

Much, much warmer here this AM! Mid 20's ABOVE zero!!! Had the roast beef we'd originally planned for Christmas last night. Turned out perfect! Not sure what's on the agenda for today. I did put my new salamander heater together yesterday. This thing is a honkin' big time monster! I'm very happy with it. I out the wheels on the wrong end, but I own a screwdriver, and I'm not afraid to use it! Maybe I'll work in the shop now that I can warm it up enough to feel my fingers and I can fix the oil furnace out there that has the clogged nozzle.

Got the oil changed in the crawler. What a job! No filters in town, so I'll change that Monday. Oil pressure gauge has been broken for some time, need to order one of those too.

Decapped a coffee can full of .30-06 brass and got into the wet tumble with SS pins and a little lime-shine and Dawn. I’ll pull them out in a few hours and dry then run through the annealer.

Cleaning. Going thru things and getting g rid of stuff we don’t need. This is kinda therapeutic.

Non-nostalgic therapy?
Pretty much. Lots of old computer cables, old school stuff from my daughter, hunting clothes that no longer fit.
We have a bunch of bags of stuff to donate.
Seeing floor in rooms we forgot had floor makes us smile.

Now to decide what to do with a bunch of fly tying stuff. I don’t have my spot for fishing any longer and my dad couldn’t go anyway. The cats, bluegills, and bass don’t miss us I’m sure,

I cast a pot of bullets yesterday for the 350 Legend, painted and sized them too. Then went ahead and loaded 12 test rounds with Win 231, which is pretty close to Uniques burn rate. Started painting the 45’s and 40’s I cast a couple of months ago, repainted and sized some 22’s. Yep, been a good weekend!

picked up a couple of fly tying doo-dads and a couple of cartridge boxes plus 2 pieces of corrugated metal for this spring.
i can't believe all they had was 2 pieces, which is 2 pieces more than they've had since sept. or october.

wood is back up to stupid high on some pieces and down where it was a month ago on others.
i have a feeling i need to make an investment now to avoid bankruptcy or just mere shock in about 2 months.
