These slugs get over six inches long!
It’s a nice hike out to my spot.
My spot maxes out at 150 yards. Where I was standing at the edge of the ravine is about 45 yards from the targets.
Forgive me for the napkin art. I didn’t remember to take any photos while I was berm mining. The berm that I was collecting lead at is a few miles down the road from the trailhead to “my spot“.
The range scrap sifter/shaker box worked well. The hinged legs made quick work for the sifting and shaking. Load it, shake it, set the end with the handles down on a bucket, and then...
Sort out all the rocks. So many rocks!!! There were 20-30 pebbles for every bullet. It was pretty slow going. After 45 minutes there was only one inch of lead scrap in the bottom of my five gallon bucket. There is a lot of lead there. I’ll probably be back at it again. Cause treasure hunting is fun!
Or, I could work some overtime and buy a whole sail boat keel!
All in all, the boy and I had a great day.
