Oldest boys S10 crapped out in Albany. His girlfriend, The Angel, drove her clapped out and totally unreliable Chebby down to get him so he can clean out the apt he leased last fall. Trusting souls! Anyhoo, someone is going to have to drive him back to Albany Sun night to look at the S10...and I'm not looking forward to that 9-10 hour round trip...at night!
My 05 GMC 2500 with the 6.0 gasser seems to be suffering from what I found out is a common problem- collapsed or at least not working right lifters! I don't understand this one. GM has been using very reliable hydraulic lifters for what? 60 some years?!!! And somehow they managed to screw that up?!!! It explains a lot of the nagging issues I've been having. Remedies run from an oil change to oil change with ATF to spraying carb cleaner down the push rods to pulling the lifters through the bore to a total engine rebuild/replacement! All I know is it's an on again/off again thing. The truck sat for several years before being revived I was told, so it sounds reasonable. Of course, it can also wipe out a cam, so I gots to do something.
Amazingly enough, the Burb sold!!! Local bus driver said it looked like the perfect winter beater. We came to an agreement that I felt was very good for me, but I didn't have high expectations. A win!
Changed the pups food and some other stuff. He's looking better already.
