Well we are bracing for a record storm starting tomorrow! It is pretty early for big snows here but they are predicting 18 " plus of snow between tomorrow afternoon and Thursday afternoon for my area!
And I have to go for a CAT scan tomorrow afternoon! Hope that "PennDot" has their act together for clearing the roads in time! Not to mention 30 to 40 mph winds!
Do not mind winter but this stuff sucks!

No snow, mosquitoes, nor frost on the pumpkins. Ever.
Wait, it snowed the first Sunday in February '61, though barely enough for my sister and I to make a scrawny and raggedy snowman.

Today was just under 60 degrees, very calm, and only a few clouds in an otherwise clear blue sky. A bit of rain is scheduled for overnight Wednesday, early Thursday.

Clear blue skies, don't think it ever broke 30 degrees today, but no mosquitoes. Had a bit of snow on Sunday, still some here and there on trees and the ground.

it's mid December.
I think it got up to about 40 in the greenhouse today, that poor little heater in there is churning it's gut's out.

I passed right by the LGS, every time I went to therapy for my knees. After both replacements, I rewarded myself with a firearm purchase. Temptation was just too great. Plus, I deserved it. 12014.jpg

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
It's about 4F here, overcast, high humidity with a 10-15 mph breeze. A perfect day for staying inside. I'll be outside most of the day of course...

Finally cold enough here for some halfway safe ice, 3" for walkable ice fishing. A fair number of eager anglers out tromping around on three inches of ice almost as clear as plate glass with no snow on it. Only 4' of water so the panfish were spooky. Late in the afternoon as discouraged anglers left the ice and the daylight was diminishing a bite started and I quickly caught 5 bluegills and a perch to go with the one keeper gill from earlier in the afternoon. That is enough fish for a meal for Sue and I and though the bite was getting better and better I held to my self imposed limit and left.

Pan fried gill and perch, coleslaw, potato salad and rye bread with a glass of semi dry white wine coming up.

It’s been -4-6 the last couple nights. Making good clear strong ice, which I need for my beaver contract, before we get a good snow. If it makes good ice first means good running all winter. Honeycomb ice and slush suck when you’re pulling a sled behind a snowmobile.

32-33 degrees and snowing. Gusting East winds. Most snow is melting on contact but it is making for a nasty sloppy drive.

Into our second week of 25 lows and 35 highs, with high wet clouds drifting over the mountains from the coast. Ugly and boring and no break in sight.

Well as of 6 PM today ...Snow is falling at a rate of 3 inches per hour. Winds about 18 mph pretty consistent. Temp are 20 deg and snow is fluffy!
By the end of it tomorrow Mid morning, they are predicting 18 to 24 inches in my area. Glad it isn't heavy snow but the drifting will be the problem!
Typical: My snow blower is in my shed unfueled! Got to get us dug out because I have to Go for a CAT scan at 3 PM! Ouch!
