you might not be going anywhere if that storm wraps around and doesn't stop.

guy's been out ice fishing the last few weeks here, I get a chuckle out of them on the local reservoir,
anyone else ever hear of ice fishing for carp and catfish?

Ice fishing is entirely outside my experience. Carp and catfish?

No precipitation forecast over the next 10 days here.

big shallow mud bottom reservoir, with a river channel running through it.
not much else will survive in there.

About 1/10" of rain is scheduled to start about midnight. Not much, but welcome.

Dry, fair, and might get a light freeze tonight. Been 70-85 daytime and 30s-40s at night for a week. Wear a parka to work and tee shirt on the way home.

Upper 20's this morning and spitting snow with a NE Breeze. Supposed to reach low to mid 30's today and tomorrow. We are catching the tip of the storm bashing the East coast. I think the shovel will stay in the garage.

Twenty nine here, temp went up two degrees overnight. Only made it up to the freezing point, yesterday, at my place. Sun didn't come out till just as it was disappearing' in the west. Pumpkins still have the snow on them. :sigh: Suppose to make it to 45 degrees, today. Warming into the low 60's, Monday and Tuesday.Happy.jpg

Occasionally, ice fished back in Michigan. Mostly spearing. Lakes never freeze here...............and I don't miss it, either.

Clear and cold. -12 right now, expected to drop to -25 tonight. I don't believe it, but -18 or something is more likely. Winds gusts up to 35 miles an hour. Normally very very little wind here which is a blessing. Expected to be colder this weekend, then back into the positive temperatures.

3 hours and 44 minutes of daylight today. Sunday is the bottom. Monday I can say summers coming.

still December.
grey with white stuff falling.
only good thing about that is the clouds ain't blowing off at night so we are staying constant in the high teens or so.
once that changes it's clouds all day and open to the planet at night, then it gets cold.

Mid 40’s grey and drizzle. A real big chunk of our winters are like this.

I have come to appreciate this type of weather after having crashed my bike on black ice last year.

Wet roads are better than frozen roads.

8 hours and 26 minutes of daylight today.

Woke up to 14" of dry powder snow and sunshine! By the time I got to working on clearing it started to compress so it wasn't as light as it was at sunrise!
Cleared the Cat Ranch feeding areas first...fed to kitties then since the sun was out bright I roof raked the first 2 ft of roof area to start the melting process ...this way I get no icicles or damming on the roof! Had breakfast then Snow blew the drive way and mail box area that the city snow plows block in! Not used to this type of labor any more so I'm pretty sore but it sure beats shoveling heavy wet snow!
Got to the Med Facility for my CAT scan with out a hitch!

Marie and I weren't here today, but the weather rumor-mongers posted high of 64 and low of 40. We were out around Vidal Junction this afternoon, where it was about 10* cooler. Vidal Junction is where U.S 95 and SR 62 meet, about 15 miles west of the Colorado River. We were looking around for an old soldier's chapel built during the time of Gen. Patton's use of much of this area for tank and infantry training in 1942-1944. Day length now is just under 10 hours, so we ran out of daylight.

:headscratch: Our gas prices have been increasing, lately. Almost a $2/ gallon..............we were in the $1.70 range, most of the year.
