Started out hot and muggy. Neighbor hired a guy to take down a dead ash next to his house. Guy showed up in an SUV with helper, saws and a bunch of rope. Neighbor tends to squeeze the nickel until the buffalo schitts so I figured this guy was cheap. Well, I have to admit that he was impressive. Climbs like a monkey and never made a false move. So, I look to the west and it looks kinda ominous. I pull up radar weather and there is a bad front coming down the lake from the west. About the same time it starts to rain. Short hard downpour and then sun comes back out. But the dark sky is still approaching. I yelled up to the guy about the storm coming and he thanked me. With that, some woman with a concerned look on her face showed up and was looking for him. I suspect it was the wife and she was there to warn him about the storm. He came down just in the nick of time.
But the worst of the storm seemed to skip us. They had a E2 tornado about 150 miles west of us. A town to the south, Cortland, got a bit of a whuppin' with uprooted trees and such. When the storm was hitting us, I could see the NE shore across from us was getting pounded. My cousin has a place on that shore so will have to see how he made out.
Heat and humidity are back today.
